Cloud computing infrastructure – cloud computing service

Cloud computing – from the English term cloud computing – is a model for delivering computing services via the internet. These include, among others, storage, databases, software, and development platforms. Thanks to cloud computing, companies do not need to invest in their own infrastructure or IT systems. They can use cloud computing, paying only for what they actually use, thereby reducing their costs.

For users of such infrastructure, cloud computing resembles a remote data center managed with simple tools. It is also beneficial for a company that the cloud services provider is simultaneously its maintainer, responsible for ensuring power supply, connectivity, and security. Cloud computing is therefore not only lower capital costs or reduced operational costs, but also convenience and the ability to focus on other goals and tasks.

Cloud computing technology – what is cloud computing?

The definition of cloud computing is not uniform, but it is most commonly understood as a technology used to store, process, and manage data.

In practice, the answer to the question "what is cloud computing?" is not simple. By this service we mean IT resources and applications delivered via the internet – on demand, that is, in a pay-as-you-go model, without any investments. The cloud computing service boils down to providing convenient access to computing resources, such as servers, applications, or storage.

Basic characteristics of cloud computing are:

  • broad network access,
  • on-demand self-service,
  • rapid scaling or elasticity,
  • the ability to pool resources,
  • measurability of the entire service.

Examples of cloud computing include Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive – services familiar to almost every internet user.

Cloud computing is – in greatly simplified terms – leasing IT systems, which allows you to avoid investing in your own infrastructure. The costs of purchasing servers, storage arrays, computer cabinets, cooling systems, and other equipment are borne by the cloud provider. You, as a business owner or private individual – the client – pay only for what you actually use. You can also scale the scope of services depending on your needs.

Cloud computing technology was created primarily with small and large companies operating in all industries worldwide in mind. Data processing in cloud computing allows you to create backups, develop software, analyze data, communicate, and create and test applications. Cloud technology supports remote work and forms the foundation for development for many companies. Thanks to the savings it provides, it allows enterprises to enter new markets and offer new solutions to demanding clients, while optimizing associated costs.

Due to their nature and purpose, we distinguish three main types of cloud computing:

  • public, meaning accessible to everyone, e.g., Amazon Web Services,
  • private, intended for clients with specific needs,
  • hybrid, meaning mixed – hybrid cloud computing is created by combining a private cloud with a public one.

Cloud computing technology has numerous advantages. We list among them, first and foremost:

  • flexibility, meaning adaptation to client requirements – services can be expanded and reduced without incurring costs for unused resources,
  • speed – cloud elasticity translates into ease in dealing with the implementation of new solutions, traffic growth, or infrastructure expansion – quickly and without incurring high costs,
  • scalability – companies using the cloud can focus on utilizing their resources rather than on the process of implementing them – everything is done with a few clicks,
  • high level of security – cloud computing allows for secure connections and protects against data loss through automatic backups.

Cloud computing also means lower costs. You don't need to invest in resources that you will only need occasionally. You pay for what you use, and if your needs change, you adjust your scope of services without additional investment.

It is worth remembering that we distinguish 3 main cloud computing models:

  • Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) – provides access to virtual resources via the internet,
  • Platform as a Service (PaaS) – allows you to manage and build your own applications on the cloud platform,
  • Software as a Service (SaaS) – provides access to a software platform hosted in the cloud.
Advantages, disadvantages, and applications of cloud computing

The benefits of cloud computing make it significantly superior to traditional IT. The most important of them are:

  • low costs,
  • speed,
  • productivity,
  • performance,
  • reliability,
  • optimization.

When it comes to the financial benefits of cloud computing, they result primarily from transferring capital expenditure costs to the service provider. Cloud computing also offers better price-to-performance ratio, as well as the possibility of flexible growth - regardless of your company's location. The benefits of cloud computing also include scalability, which means the ability to scale resources up or down - without loss or additional costs.

What about the drawbacks of cloud computing? Among them, the most frequently mentioned are vendor lock-in, meaning lack of full control over the entire infrastructure, and the risk of failure, which can affect service availability. However, the drawbacks of cloud computing can be mitigated by choosing a trusted and proven provider.

Cloud computing is applicable in many fields. Its use allows you to offer online services, conduct data analysis, store and manage data on remote servers. Other possible applications of cloud computing include:

  • creating and deploying applications,
  • hosting online stores,
  • delivering services such as email or office applications,
  • creating simulations,
  • conducting scientific calculations and much more.
Cloud backup for businesses and individuals

Cloud backup is the protection of your data by storing backups in the cloud. At our company, this service is called Object Storage. Cloud data backup is a secure solution. We use the latest technologies to protect your files and your privacy. Our infrastructure is located in Europe, so you don't have to worry about latency or GDPR compliance. Cloud backup for businesses provides:

  • protection against data loss in case of failure or human error,
  • access to data from anywhere in the world,
  • cost optimization,
  • scalability and flexibility - you adjust the scope of the service to your needs and pay only for the space you use.
Cloud backup - automatic backup in the cloud

Cloud backup storage works in the background, automatically transferring data and encrypting it, ensuring availability and security. Automatic cloud backup allows you to restore lost resources, for example after a system failure.

Cloud backup is a different dimension of data security

Cloud backup is a useful solution for both individuals and businesses. Cloud backup provides security in case of data loss, for example due to theft, failure or human error. Our company offers:

  • file backup - protecting specific files,
  • block backup - protecting your entire operating system.

Cloud data backup is fully encrypted, which guarantees privacy. Data stored by us is also protected against malware. Cloud backup gives you peace of mind. It also provides flexibility, giving you access to data from anywhere in the world. Because cloud backup creation works automatically, you no longer need to remember to create it manually. Simply choose the scope of services you are interested in.

NAS cloud backup - copying data from a NAS server to the cloud

Network Attached Storage allows disk space to be shared by different devices and systems, such as a monitoring system. We can connect such a server with our cloud backup service, which allows you to create backups and securely store them in the cloud.

MAC to cloud backup - service for MAC computer users

Cloud backup for MacBook allows you to synchronize data and securely store it in the cloud. If standard Mac backup in the form of iCloud service is insufficient, it is worth using an external service that our company offers.

Cloud computing — for small and large companies

Cloud computing technology was created primarily with small and large companies operating in all industries worldwide in mind. Data processing in cloud computing allows you to create backups, develop software, analyze data, conduct communications, and create and test applications. Cloud technology supports remote work and is the foundation for development for many companies. Through the savings it provides, it allows enterprises to enter new markets and offer new solutions for demanding customers while optimizing associated costs. You gain:
