What is NextCloud?

Nowadays, we all produce enormous amounts of data, and by that I mean tangible data, such as files (photos, documents, scans, videos, music archives and so on). At some point, every person and every company begins to think about the security of their data. Suddenly it turns out that half of our lives are photos and memories associated with them. In a company, it suddenly turns out that the number of invoices, documents and databases is so large and has such great value that their loss could have very serious consequences.

Various solutions have been available on the market for some time, including NAS devices. These are local disk servers used for data storage. But what if we know nothing about IT? What will happen if the device breaks down? What if we don't have or don't want to spend money on a NAS (these devices can be very expensive). We can then use network drives based on public clouds. All disk services are performed using the S3 protocol; currently, every NAS device allows you to perform backups to the public cloud via the S3 protocol.
