Data Center – Tier III

Data loss or restricted access to data can result in not only difficult-to-estimate financial losses, but also loss of reputation and credibility. On the other hand, ensuring the continuity of IT infrastructure operations and proper technical support requires significant financial investment, which especially nowadays may be unattainable. However, the solution to this problem is within reach – you need only take advantage of our comprehensive, professional Data Center offering. We understand that a professional Data Center must provide its clients not only with access to the latest IT technologies and solutions, but above all with security guarantees and peace of mind. That is why our Data Center has been designed to meet the highest standards of both quality and security.

Facility Location

The Data Center facility is located in Elbląg, in close proximity to major routes towards Warsaw and Gdańsk via the S7 highway and towards Braniewo and Kaliningrad via the S22 highway. The Data Center is part of the GISCENTER facility, established in 2011.

Facility Characteristics

The Data Center facility was built in response to the growing needs of the local and national market for secure data storage and processing. The Data Center premises are located on the upper ground floor of the GISCENTER building. The main server room has no windows and is equipped with systems ensuring stable environmental conditions for computer equipment operation. The entire technical and IT infrastructure has been designed following the principle of single point of failure elimination, in accordance with the Tier-3 N+1 standard, meaning all its components are redundant. We offer our clients server cabinets with 38U usable height. Each cabinet is equipped with guaranteed power supply, electricity meter, necessary copper network connections cat.6 and multimode fiber optic connections.

Physical Security and Access Control

Facility security is ensured by a zone-based access control system connected to an intrusion and panic alarm system. The facility is under continuous CCTV monitoring (technical rooms and external surroundings). Every entry to the Data Center is recorded and takes place exclusively under the supervision of technical staff. The precautionary measures taken aim to eliminate any possibility of unauthorized access to stored resources. Round-the-clock professional security supervision protects the physical security of the facility.

Fire Protection

The Data Center facility is equipped with a two-level fire detection and prevention system. The first level of fire hazard signaling is the VESDA early smoke detection system operating at the molecular detection level. The second level is the SAP fire detection and signaling system collecting information from installed smoke detectors. Both fire hazard detection systems are connected to the fire brigade headquarters and the SUG automatic fire suppression and spread prevention system, which operates using FM200 gas (safe for equipment and people). This solution guarantees that the computer equipment we are responsible for is safe and will not be damaged during potential firefighting operations.

Power Supply

The Data Center has solutions guaranteeing complete power security. Two independent medium voltage lines SN 15KV, two own SN transformers with 1000 kVA power each, supplemented by a power generator with 700 kVA power. The complement is an uninterruptible power supply system with 400 kVA power, consisting of four UPS units with battery sets. The parallel operation of UPS units ensures high power availability at the 99.9% level. Each server cabinet is supplied with guaranteed AC/230V power of 4.4 kW. Cabinets have independent energy consumption meters.

Cooling System

Constant temperature and humidity control in the server room is provided by a precision air conditioning system operating in a free-cooling mode. The system has two independent cooling circuits (piping) using ice water as the cooling agent. The system includes independently operating ice water units, circulation pumps, and heat exchangers. The ice water reserve tank allows maintaining stable room temperature for an extended period, even in case of unit and compressor downtime. Cooling cabinets installed in the server room use the principle of hot and cold aisles, ensuring stable and optimal environmental conditions for computer equipment operation.

Structured Cabling

The facility's cabling includes U/FTP copper cables category 6 and 10G multimode fiber optic cables. The facility is divided into three cable zones. In each colocation cabinet of the first EDA zone (colocation equipment) there are copper and fiber optic connection terminations aggregated at the central distribution point MDA (hub point). The third zone is the HDA zone, where LAN and SAN network backbone devices are located. The server room has a raised floor enabling additional cabling between cabinets. All connections at the access layer and network backbone are implemented on independent, dual-path routes, ensuring full transmission security. The network cabling backbone operates on 10 GE fiber optic connections.

Telecom Operator Connections

The facility has fiber optic connections from telecommunications operators: T-Mobile, Netia, Orange, Exatel, Hawe, Elbląska Miejska Sieć Szerokopasmowa. For Internet communication, BGP IP-Transit links are used from two independent telecommunications operators. Each link is implemented over a separate fiber optic route. Standard port speed is 1 Gb/s. We also have our own independent IP-PI addressing received directly from RIPE. Additionally, the facility has telephone connections from Netia and T-Mobile operators.

IP Network

The network devices used in the Data Center operate in the Gigabit Ethernet standard. The network backbone has switching performance at the 2.4 TB/s level, with 25 GE ports available. The network access layer aggregates traffic on 1 GE ports. The Ethernet network is supplemented by a SAN network. SAN optical switches utilize 4 and 8 G standards. Each server cabinet has 48 available Gigabit Ethernet network access ports on redundant devices. Guaranteed Internet access is provided by edge devices with 10 Gb/s performance. Routing to telecommunications operator networks is performed on high-performance BGP routers. We have our own IPv4 IP-PI address class with a dedicated autonomous system number ASN.
